What: The first meeting of the Cherokee County Historical Society. Free admission to everyone.
Where: The Cherokee County Chamber of Commerce meeting room at the Gadsden State Cherokee Campus, 801 Cedar Bluff Road, Centre, AL. 35960.
When: The meeting will be 1/21/2010 at 6:00PM CT.
Why: We will be introducing the Society to the public, describing our initiatives, explaining how to become a member and will have a guest speaker.
Mr. Greene worked as a Tour Guide/ Storyteller at the New Echota, Georgia State Historic Site for over 8 years. He has extensive knowledge of Cherokee Indian history. Mr. Greene has conducted programs for children from all over the state of Georgia as well as programs for people of all ages. He has been a professional storyteller for over 5 years. He is also a songwriter and musician. His song "Cherokee Names" has been heard across the U.S. and in other countries. It will be an entertaining program for individuals of all ages.
