What: Meeting of the Cherokee County Historical Society.
When: July 28, 2011 at 6:00PM.
Where: The Cherokee County Chamber of Commerce meeting room at the Gadsden State Cherokee Campus, 801 Cedar Bluff Road, Centre, AL. 35960.
Why: Bi-monthly meeting. We will have a guest speaker.
Guest Speaker: Pat Sherrill will be discussing the diaries of Zillah Haynie Brandon of Gaylesville and Sarah Rousseau Espy of Leesburg. The diaries date to the Civil War period and discuss the war, hardships, religion and a variety of other topics.
Other business that will be discussed includes the historical marker for Round Mountain Furnace, the Society's display space at the Cherokee County Historical Museum.
Refreshments will be served.
