The Cherokee County Historical Society will be meeting on February 25 at the Cherokee County Historical Museum, 101 E Main St., Centre, AL. 35960 at 6:00PM. The guest speaker will be Don Wells who serves as the president of the nonprofit group Mountain Stewards. He will be discussing Indian trail trees which were used by Native American to mark trails. Mr. Wells is the author of the book, Mystery of the Trees, which discusses the unique landmarks. He has traveled across the United States interviewing Native American elders gathering information and Mountain Stewards have identified over 1985 trail trees in over 40 states. The public is invited to attend the meeting and refreshments will be served.
